Mulberry Primary School

Diamond Build was awarded this complex multi phased refurbishment project. Works were carefully sequenced to minimise inconvenience whilst asbestos was removed under carefully controlled conditions and the remaining structural alterations were configured.

The project involved significant alterations to the roof, a two storey nursery extension and the refurbishment of a sports hall and external landscaping to create a new garden. The internal building fabric was repaired and re-decorated and the windows overhauled. New mechanical & electrical installations were installed throughout, including “intelligent” energy-saving motion-sensor lighting. A soft play Multi-Use Games Area (M.U.G.A.) was constructed and the project was completed within the allocated period of 48 weeks.

The project was certified BREEAM “Very Good” due to the low Co2 emissions, thermal performance, building services and the passive controlling of solar gains.
